Very Reverend Archimandrite Eleftherios Kambourakis
Very Reverend Archimandrite Eleftherios Kambourakis was born in Sydney on the 18 July 1975. He finished his secondary education in Kalymnos Greece and returned to Australia in 1995 where he studied at St Andrew's Greek Orthodox Theological College from where he received his Bachelor of Theology in 1998. Continued with postgraduate studies at the Aristotle University in Thessaloniki Greece in the field of Systematic Theology, specialising in Dogmatics, graduating with High Distinction.
On the 6 of May 2001 was ordained as deacon by His Eminence Archbishop Stylianos of Australia at the Cathedral of the Annunciation of the Theotokos, working as an assistant secretary in the Archbishop's office and at the same time managing the personal archives of His Eminence.
December 15, 2002 he was ordained as a priest by the Archbishop and on the 11th of December 2004 was elevated to the rank of the Archimandrite.
He served at the Cathedral as Parish Priest (15/12/2002 till August 2003), and as Dean (3/2/2004 till 31/8/2008); at the Church of the Resurrection of our Lord at Kogarah (August 2003 till 2/2/2004); and was appointed at St Nicholas Church in Marrickville 1 September 2008.
